Make Your Own Exfoliating Scrub

It’s a common goal for most girls to want to achieve healthy and glowing skin, and the important of exfoliation in your morning routine is key to achieving that goal. Exfoliation is the removal of dry or dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. When old skin cells start to pile up your skin begins to look dry, rough and dull. This build up will result in clogged pores and excess oils, which often lead to blemishes and acne.

Not only does exfoliating help several skin problems, but it also increases blood circulation resulting in healthier glowing skin. Exfoliation can lessen the occurrence of blackheads on your face and enhance your body’s skin making it much softer and smooth.

Unfortunately, most best selling facial exfoliators can be quite expensive, so continue reading to learn how to make your own:

What you’ll need:

1 bear of honey
1 small bottle of olive oil
1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of coconut oil
1 cup of white sugar
2 cups of lemon juice

Apply lemon juice to any of the following scrubs for anti-reddening. The astringent properties in lemon juice suck out oil and shrink the blemish.

What you do:

For a face and body exfoliator,

Mix 4 tbsp. of honey with 1 tsp. of brown sugar (you can add more as you feel needed for body scrub).

Scrub honey and brown sugar mixture on your face and let sit for 15 minutes. Make sure to wash your hands before applying to your face.

After 15 minutes, wash your hands again and rinse off with warm water – you may need a fresh washcloth to get rid of the stickiness, just be gentle!

For a lip exfoliator,

Mix 1 tbsp. of coconut oil with 1 tsp. of white sugar.

Gently, scrub the mixture onto your lips for about one minute – make sure to wash your hands before application!

Rinse off.

For a skin moisturizer, because moisturizing after exfoliation is so important,

Mix 4 tbsp. of honey with 1/2 cup of olive oil.

Gently apply the mixture to your face and rub in – make sure to wash your hands before application!

Rinse off.
