The Academy Awards // Oscars 2017

The 89th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, honored the best films of 2016, yesterday evening, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, LA. Before the glamorous night began, the E! Red Carpet coverage begun at 10:30 a.m. (PT) with E!’s “Countdown to the Red Carpet” covered by Jason Kennedy, Catt Sadler, Kristin Cavallari, Zuri Hall, Ross Mathews, Dave Karger, Brad Goreski and Kris Jenner. Giuliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest then took over with “Live from the Red Carpet” at 2:30 p.m. (PT).

Styled by Rebecca M. Gross and Noelle Smith, Catt Sadler (of course) STUNNED in Michael Costello featuring Simon G. earrings, rings by Graziela Gems and XIV Karats, Gianvito Rossi pumps, and clutch by Jimmy Choo. Makeup by Maria Vargas, hair by David Robert, nails by Base Coat Nail Salon and tan by Jessica Johnston, Sadler had an amazing glam team to assist her on the red carpet. As she interviewed the stars of 2016’s best motion pictures with E! News co-host Jason Kennedy (who has been her Oscar side-kick for the past eleven years) she says, “You forget you can’t breathe and that your feet are swelling. It’s all in the name of fashion.”

Giuliana Rancic looked like a princess (as always) in a periwinkle blue gown by Georges Chakra Couture. The draped dress featuring an asymmetrical split neckline, subtle cut-outs in the bodice, jeweled accents at the shoulder and waist, a sweeping cape and a thigh-high slit was straight off-the-runway from George Chakra’s 2017 Spring/Summer collection. Styled by Rebecca M. Gross, the details include diamonds by Forevermark, shoes by Christian Louboutin, clutch by Judith Leiber, hair by Melissa and Yvonne Brown and makeup by Daniel Deleno.

Styled by Cat Wright, Zuri Hall looked beautiful in Uel Camilo with a sheer bejeweled bodice and a ruffled drape. Details include jewelry by Levian, shoes by Stuart Weitzman, hair by Shaa and makeup by Niki Metz.

Styled by Judy Kaufman, Kristin Cavallari captured the eyes of everyone in a strapless red gown by Zachary The Label with jewelry by Hearts On Fire and Pasquale Bruni. Her glam team includes Karan Mitchell and celebrity hair stylist Scotty Cunha.

Zanna Roberts Rassi, E! Project Runway Allstars Mentor and Co-Founder of Milk Makeup, looked absolutely STUNNING in Peter Pilotto as she talked Oscar red carpet fashion at the Roosevelt Hotel with Giuliana Rancic, Kris Jenner, Chrissy Metz and Jason Bolden before hosting the “E! Red Carpet After Party” with Jason Kennedy, Todd Chrisley and Olivia Culpo.

Olivia Culpo glistened in a custom made Marchesa gown with beads made from Stella Artois Limited-Edition Chalices. Each one sold helps Water provide five years of clean water to someone in the developing world. “Fashion for a good cause is the best kind of fashion,” said Culpo.

Her makeup was done by Sir Johnson, the brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris and hair by celebrity hair stylist Justine Marjan.

Janelle Monáe, an actress from two of the season’s most-watched breakout films nominated for best picture – “Moonlight” (Winner) and “Hidden Figures” – was a shimmering Queen in an Elie Saab dress. Maeve Reilly, Monáe’s stylist for the past four years, chose the dress from the last couture collection because it was stunning, yet different – and detailed the dress with jewelry by Forevermark.

Hailee Steinfeld was a modern beauty in a floral-embellished gown by Ralph & Russo. The gown featured a boasted high neckline with ruffle trim, an elegant cascading train and nails by Essie. The actress and singer gave the sheer style, seen everywhere this award season, a youthful vibe.

Chrissy Teigen looked astonishing is a Zuhair Murad couture gown featuring a sheer front panel, cape and, of course, thigh-high slit – Chrissy’s go-to detail.

Styled by Cristina Ehrlich, Priyanka Chopra shimmered in Ralph & Russo detailed with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry featuring 60-carat diamond drop earrings valued at $5 million. The actress also wore a pair of natural lavender jade and diamond matching cuffs with a 10-carat diamond ring.

Sofia Carson looked like she stepped right out of a fairytale for her first-ever Academy Awards appearance. The actress graced the red carpet in a beaded princess gown by Monique Lhuillier – hair brooch by Lhuillier as well – and shoes by Christina Louboutin. She complimented the subtle, yet sparkling, gown with simple eye makeup and a bold red lip by celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta and a classic up-do by Jed Root NYC/LA hairstylist Caile Noble.

Naomie Harris, who was nominated for her supporting role in “Moonlight” stunned in a sequined body-skimming white dress by Raf Simons for Calvin Klein with Bulgari jewelry. The designer debuted his first Calvin Klein collection at NYFW this season. The Calvin Klein sandals caught the attention of many because of its contrast. The strappy heels were yellow around the ankle and diamond encrusted over the tip of the foot (& vice versa on the other foot). Harris’ glam team featured hair stylists Laura Jones, Nola Singer and Peter Lux and celebrity makeup artist Mario aka @makeupbymario.

Styled by the sister styling team of Wendi and Nicole, Octavia Spencer, who was nominated for her role as Best Supporting Actress in “Hidden Figures” looked astonishing in an off-the-shoulder, feathered Marchesa gown with Forevermark Diamond jewels and Stuart Weitzman shoes. Her glam team featured hair by Tymothe Wallace and makeup by Valerie Noble.

Styled by Kate Young, Dakota Johnson looked elegant, quant and goddess-like in a 24-karat gold Gucci gown. The gown featured a high neckline and long sleeves with a plissé front detail and a cascading bow accent at the waist. The gown was paired with Cartier jewels, metallic strappy sandals and a matching evening clutch, both by Gucci.

Styled by Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi, Jessica Biel looked even more beautiful than usual (if that’s even possible) in a Kaufmanfranco gown of true Oscar statue with a Tiffany & Co. spiked diamond bib necklace. Biel’s glam team included hair by Adir Abergel and makeup by Kara Yoshimoto.

Alicia Vikander looked gorgeous, glamorous and sophisticated in Louis Vuitton – who she has been loving this award season. The black lace gown with cap sleeves and a slim silhouette that bursts out into tiers at the hips is paired with edgy lace-up style sparkly sandals and stiletto heels adding a youthful twist to the innocent look.
